Information for New Residents
Entragaurd System
The front entrance area is equipped with an Entraguard Telephonic Door Control System. Your visitors should be instructed to use this system to gain entry. The Desk Clerks are not permitted to admit unannounced visitors. To use the system, guests dial your apartment number. This will dial your home or cell number. If you wish to admit your guest, you press (or dial) the “9” on your phone to release the entrance door. If you wish to deny entry, just hang up. This system was installed to protect the security and privacy of all residents.
Front Desk & Lobby
The Front Desk is open from 8 a.m. to midnight, Monday through Saturday and 10 am to 6 pm Sunday. A Unit Box is maintained for each unit and should be checked by each resident regularly for any building correspondence, resident electric bills, information items, etc.
Packages
Large items or packages delivered may be accepted at the Front Desk with the permission of the resident. Residents will be required to sign for packages at time of pickup from the Desk.
Deliveries
If you are expecting a large item delivery or pick-up (furniture, appliance, etc.), please notify the front desk as soon as possible. This will allow us to schedule accordingly since we have only one freight elevator. Generally, all deliveries will need to come through the loading dock and are limited to normal delivery times.
Admit Slips
Management maintains a key to each unit for EMERGENCY USE ONLY. These keys are coded and kept secured and may be accessed by office personnel only. Residents wishing to allow access to their units must leave their own key and a dated admit slip, naming the person(s) to be admitted in their unit box at the Front Desk.
Resident Lock-Outs
There is a $25 charge for lock-outs from Monday to Friday 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. and $50 after hours, weekends and holidays. Only the operations manager, office manager and Board of Directors members are authorized to access the emergency keys, if available. If Board members are not available (after hours), residents are advised to contact a locksmith.
Basement Garage Lobby & Loading Zone
A loading zone is provided for the convenience of residents and contractors. A 20-minute limit is enforced. If you prop open the garage lobby door, please be sure to close it when finished loading/unloading. Please do not leave any trash or clutter in or outside the garage lobby, but dispose of it properly in trash-chutes or the bulk trash area.
Parking/Vehicles
All parking spaces on The Carlyle House property are assigned. Residents must park in their assigned space or area. Registered guests are limited to the guest parking spaces available. All resident vehicles must be registered with management and must display a Carlyle House Parking Sticker. Condominium management cooperates with local authorities in assuring compliance with the laws pertaining to vehicles.
Click here to view a one-page PDF of the condominium's on-site parking policies as excerpted from the Rules & Regulations. This document is also displayed at the Front Desk, and all residents and guests are expected to comply.
Utilities
Each unit is sub-metered for usage of electricity. Residents will be invoiced and payment should be made to The Carlyle House.
Trash
All trash should be properly wrapped and placed in the trash chute (located near the elevators on every floor). Items too large to fit down the chute must be taken to the bulk trash area located behind the stockade fence near parking space #100. Please do not “force” items into the chute as they may become jammed. No trash is to be left in the trash chute room or other areas of the building. PLEASE NOTE that the trash is not pulled on the weekends so it is helpful if residents could make every effort to dispose of their trash prior to 4 pm on Fridays to keep their weekend trash disposal to a minimum.
Recycling
The recycling center is located outside the basement-garage Lobby entrance. Materials for recycling include newspapers, aluminum/tin cans, glass and plastic.
Pest Control
The Condominium maintains a service contract with a pest control company for monthly service. Residents must contact the Front Desk to make arrangements for this service. An admit slip and key must be left at the Front Desk for the contractor to enter the unit.
Pets
With the exception of restricted and controlled numbers of unit-bound pets (for example, cats and birds), The Carlyle House is a no-pet building. Any type of dog is prohibited. Before purchasing or leasing an apartment, please consult the condominium's management (Office Manager) or your copy of the Condominium Rules & Regulations for specific information on the condominium's pet policy.
Insurance Coverage
It is each resident’s responsibility to carry the necessary insurance for all personal belongings, furniture, etc., to cover losses in case of theft, fire, water and other damage, and to cover liability for damage caused by their unit to the building and other Units.
Access to Units
Maintenance will enter each unit twice yearly to change HVAC filters, check smoke detector batteries, plumbing and other general maintenance. Every effort will be made to notify residents if access to their unit is required for maintenance and/or repairs. Limited in-house maintenance is offered for an hourly charge and may be requested by contacting the Operations Manager during regular business hours or through Building Link.
Pool
The pool is normally open from the Saturday before Memorial Day through Labor Day each year. Passes to use the pool are issued through the management office annually. One season pass per registered resident and one season guest pass per unit shall be issued. Additional pool passes are available at $10.00 for adult day pass or $5.00 for child day pass, and $60.00 for extra season guest pass.
Tennis Court
The tennis court is available for use through the front desk. The tennis court is to be used for tennis ONLY.
