Waste Disposal

Bulk Trash Area
Bulk trash disposal is provided to residents at no extra charge. The bulk trash area, contained by a wooden "stockade" fence, is located on the basement garage level (B) at the top of the ramp from the condominium's South Frederick Street garage entrance.

Please place items here that will not fit down the trash chute on your floor (furniture, etc.). Appliances can be left in the bulk trash area, and will be disposed of for a fee. Large boxes, which may become wedged in the chute or cause the compactor to jam, should also be placed in the bulk trash area. Also, if you need to dispose of caustic fluids (paint, thinner, etc.), please place them in the bulk trash area, rather than put them down the chute.

Please do not throw food waste or daily household trash in this area.

Household Trash & Food-Waste Disposal
There is a trash chute on each floor, intended for disposal of "regular" household waste. Please bag such waste whenever possible before putting it down the chute, and do not leave items on the floor of the chute-room.

Recycling
Recycling is not mandatory at the Carlyle House, but recycling bins for newspaper, aluminum/tin, glass and plastic are available to residents outside the basement garage lobby entrance. Paper bags and small collapsed boxes should go in the newspaper bin, and plastic bags in the plastics bins.
